Bills Trinity River Fishing Report

Thank you for checking Bills Trinity River Fishing Report. With the 4th of July just around the corner, we wish we had a better report for you. However the flows out of Lewiston Lake are still extremely high and the water temperatures remain cool. At last check, flows were still over 2000 cfs from Lewiston Dam, 2200 cfs in Douglas City, 2300 cfs in Junction City and 2600 cfs near Helena. The rafters are having a ball!! There has been some activity in the Lewiston area but to date that is about all we have heard. A few reports of Brown Trout being caught with an occasional salmon and/or steelhead. The way the flows have been over the past few months some of the put in / take out spots do not look like you normally see them. You will need to survey them as you plan your trip. We also do not have any reports of obstructions in the water due to the extremely high flows this Spring and the pulses that have occurred. There just has not been enough river traffic for us to give out reports at this date. Temperatures have been hovering in the mid to high 90′s with an occasional rise into triple digits. When you come please be prepared with water, gator-aid, sunscreen, sunglasses and wide brimmed hats! Oh yes – and lots of patience!
